ledger entry · observed by @whysanesanders

The terminal people already wanted, now with an agent meter. Free stays a real terminal plus BYOK; Build is $20 for 1,500 credits at API-shaped rates. Factories (cloud agent fleets) are a second SKU with a 20% PAYG markup. Closed client. No hands-on run in this catalog pass.

Strengths

  • Modern terminal UX plus AI agent in one tool.
  • Free tier keeps a real terminal and BYOK.
  • Public credit math: $20 for 1,500 credits.

Known limitations

  • Agent credits and terminal UX are sold together; heavy agent use is not the Free plan.
  • Cloud agents and Factories are extra surface area with their own markup.
  • Closed source; you cannot audit the client or self-host the agent service.
  • Team SSO and BYOLLM sit on Business/Enterprise, not Build.

Use it when

  • Developers who want terminal modernization plus AI in one app.
  • Free-tier users happy with BYOK for agent tasks.
  • Teams needing cloud agent fleets via Factories.

Skip it when

  • Heavy agent use would force expensive Build/Max tiers.
  • You need an auditable open-source terminal.
  • Team SSO/BYOLLM requirements rule out Build.

Buy-check

  • ·Price — freemium, Free $0 (BYOK + limited agent); Build from $20/mo (1,500 credits); Max from $200/mo (18,000 credits); Business from $50/user/mo as of 2026-08-19. Open the pricing page, not a screenshot.
  • ·Free tier — Free tier exists — burn it first.
  • ·Cancel fallout — What happens to your data/projects on cancel — check the ToS, not the FAQ.
  • ·Seat math — Per-seat pricing multiplies quietly. Count seats before the annual plan.
  • ·Who skips it — Also skipped when: Heavy agent use would force expensive Build/Max tiers.; You need an auditable open-source terminal..
