ledger entry · observed by @whysanesanders

Far better than keyword search for research and agent context gathering. The API is clean and the results are semantically relevant. Coverage of fresh, niche pages is still uneven.

Strengths

  • Semantic search that beats keywords for research and agent context.
  • Clean API with results ranked by meaning, not just strings.

Known limitations

  • Smaller index than Google/Bing for real-time news.
  • Pricing can climb quickly at scale.
  • Some niche or newly published pages are missing.

Use it when

  • Agent retrieval that should find the page, not the keyword hit.
  • Research jobs where semantic ranking matters more than a news index.

Skip it when

  • You need Google-scale freshness for breaking news.
  • Scale would climb the bill faster than a simpler search API.
  • The pages you need are too new or too niche for the index.

Buy-check

  • ·Price — freemium, free $10 credits/mo; usage-based PayGO; Enterprise custom as of 2026-09-01. Open the pricing page, not a screenshot.
  • ·Free tier — Free tier exists — burn it first.
  • ·Cancel fallout — What happens to your data/projects on cancel — check the ToS, not the FAQ.
  • ·Seat math — Per-seat pricing multiplies quietly. Count seats before the annual plan.
  • ·Who skips it — Also skipped when: You need Google-scale freshness for breaking news.; Scale would climb the bill faster than a simpler search API..
