Write, refactor, and debug code inside your editor with an AI pair programmer.

Recommended
Best-in-class agent mode, composer, and context awareness. It actually edits multiple files and runs tests. The current default.
Alternatives
Extremely capable in a terminal. Great for ops-heavy or large-refactor workflows, but you have to like the command line.
Reliable inline completions and broad IDE support. Less agentic than Cursor, but rarely surprising.
Honest skips
AiderskipPowerful for terminal-driven developers, but the UX is niche. If you want an editor-integrated flow, skip it.
Check manually
- Does it support your language and framework well?
- Check code privacy rules. Some tools train on enterprise code only with a paid plan.
- Try the agent on a real bug, not just hello-world.
- Confirm it can run your test suite or linter.
